Alpaca fiber is fantastic and it is high quality, so rightly you want to take good care of it.
Below is a list of how to care for the products we sell:
Alpaca Socks - Hand or machine wash on a delicate cycle with cold water. Never use anything other than cold water, otherwise you will felt your socks and they will be ruined! The socks may be laid flat to air dry or be tumbled dry on a low dryer setting. Following these directions carefully will ensure you get the longest wear out of your alpaca socks.
Alpaca Scarf - The handmade scarves that we sell must be hand washed only in cold water. Then reshape it and lay it flat to air dry.
Alpaca Fleece Flops - Only spot clean with cold water. Do not immerse in water!
Hand Painted Alpaca Glasses - These glasses are hand painted with a special paint that is baked onto the glass. Although the manufacturer of the paint says that you may place them in the dishwasher, I do not recommend it. Hand wash them with warm water and mild soap. These glasses are safe for the microwave and for food use.
Felted Alpaca Soap - Use like a regular bar of soap until the soap is gone. Then cut off a small piece of the felt on one side of the empty pouch and wash it out thoroughly to get rid of any soap residue. Once soap-free, use it as a change purse or as a pouch for your cell phone.
Alpaca Themed Jewelry - Never use chemical cleaners on the alpaca charms since this may tarnish. Rinse with plain water if necessary.
